Who is behind the quality labels?
The owner of the quality labels is the bioRe Foundation. The exclusive licensee is Remei, which guarantees full traceability throughout the production chain.
The bioRe Foundation is the independent owner of the two quality labels bioRe® Sustainable Textiles and bioRe® Sustainable Cotton.
In its capacity as owner, the bioRe Foundation is responsible for the standards related to the two quality labels. The standards focus on positive development and long-term continuous improvement of processes. The Foundation works closely with Remei and its two organic cotton operations, Remei India Ltd. and Remei Tanzania Ltd. and farmers in India and Tanzania, in the development of the standard systems.
Remei is the exclusive licensee of the two quality labels. The company’s purpose is to trade sustainable textiles made from organic cotton as well as organic cotton yarns. Remei India Ltd. and Remei Tanzania Ltd., the two organic-farming companies are subsidiaries of company Remei.
